A ministry consisting of ordinary people, from all walks of life, who are called by God to make His praise glorious. We all have one thing in common: a love for Jesus and a desire to worship & praise Him to the best of our abilities! We lead worship for the 9:15 and 10:45AM services on Sunday mornings; for the 6PM service about once a month; and several worship concerts per year.
Come see what our Worship Ministry family is like by joining us for a rehearsal. We meet on Sundays, from 4-6PM (Music Suite).* You don’t need to audition or even read music! You just need to love singing for Him.

*We will not be offering Wednesday Choir Rehearsals for the Fall Semester. Please make every effort to attend the Sunday afternoon Choir Rehearsal.

Our orchestra is composed of dedicated musicians, from high school to professional level, who volunteer their time to lead worship, alongside the choir, each Sunday morning. Their commitment requires a weekly rehearsal, on Wednesdays, from 6:15-8:00PM, as well as accompanying the choir at 9:15 and 10:45AM services.

The Hickory Grove Baptist Academy of Music & Arts began in the late nineties as a way to offer affordable, quality piano lessons to HGBC students. Eventually, the Academy expanded to offer a wide variety of instrumental lessons, as well as ballet & tap.
Our teachers are all degreed and have had full background checks. The Worship Ministry provides the teachers with pianos and/or studios to conduct lessons, so all you pay is a small enrollment fee of (to HGBC) and a monthly tuition fee (directly to the teachers). The yearly Academy enrollment fee covers both the fall semester (begins first day of school) and the spring semester (begins in January, after Christmas break).
Right now, the Academy offers lessons in piano, guitar, drums, voice, brass, woodwinds, strings, art and dance (ballet & tap). Instrumental lessons can be scheduled for children* to adults, but dance classes are only available for ages 3 through 8. Lessons are open to HGBC members and to the public. *The piano teachers may require children younger than 7 to demonstrate an ability to read at a certain level before taking them on as a student.

A choir especially for the 55 and over set! Membership to this group does not preclude you from also participating in choir, but you need to be a senior adult to join the Christianaires. They meet on Wednesdays, from 10AM-11:30AM, in 301/302. All you have to do to join is attend a rehearsal!
The Christianaires’ semesters are comprised of preparing for a semi-annual worship concert and leading worship at local nursing homes (about once a month).
