Joanne is the wife of Dr. James Ballard. She is a North Carolina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Family Life Educator. She holds a Masters Degree in Child Development/Family Relations from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. She works with couples, families, and individuals utilizing a family systems approach in therapy. Prior to entering private practice at Hickory Grove, she spent 18 years as a family counselor with Eckerd Youth Alternatives working with children, ages 12-17, and their families. She also taught high school in Florida and freshman college students at Elon College. Joanne, for years has facilitated a weekly support group called ENCOUNTER on Wednesday nights at Hickory Grove, for individuals going through separation and divorce. For details about the group call her at 704-921-2679.
